  1. Shampoo;

Some anti-dandruff shampoo products contain methylchloroisothiazolinone, and that is a suspected mutagen. They also contain ammonium laureth sulfate and this won’t cause any health problems on its own, but it can be sometimes contaminated during the manufacturing process such as 1,4-dioxane. The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services has said that this contaminant is anticipated to be a human carcinogen because early studies with rats showed that this contaminant causes cancer.
  1. Candles;

Another possibly dangerous and toxic product is your favorite scented candles. When you see a description like essential oil and aromatherapy, we all assume that this is healthy. You should always check your candles to make sure they don’t contain lead because it is a dangerous substance. Also, check the chemicals used to create the scents of your products because many scented products contain dozens of harmful toxins and carcinogens.
If you want to check your candles, then simply by holding the wick try to draw a line on a piece of paper and if there is no line, the wick most likely does not contain lead. Another way to know if your candles contain lead is to light the candle and hold the paper high above the flame and if a gray soot residue forms, then your candles do contain lead.
  1. Air fresheners;

The fragrance uses up to 3,000 chemicals to create a particular scent. These chemicals lead to neurological problems, poor immunity, autoimmune disorders, dermatitis, respiratory distress, asthma, eye irritation, cancer, allergies, infertility, miscarriage, and so much more. Not all ingredients are required to be listed on the products, so you never really know what you’re breathing in. You can make your own room spray with water, a teaspoon almond oil and 20 drops of your favorite essential oil in a 2oz spray bottle.
  1. Shower curtains;

PVC and vinyl are very popular when it comes to shower curtains, but one of these materials isn’t safe. PVC shower curtains can release as many as 108 Volatile Organic Compounds, including 7 on the EPA’s list of dangerous air pollutants. When exposed to them, you can have damage to your liver, central nervous system, respiratory system, reproductive system, and it can contribute to developmental damage. You can buy organic cotton or hemp curtains and you can wash and iron them often to prevent mold.
  1. Art supplies;

The products such as glue, paint and permanent markers shouldn’t be used by your children because they are known to cause headaches, nausea, burns, breathing problems, lung, and kidney damage as well as cancer. This is the reason why many products have warning labels that caution that the product should not be inhaled, ingested or placed on the skin. You should give your children products with the AP or CP seal which proves that they are non-toxic. You should also replace markers with charcoal or make homemade glue using flour and water.
  1. Insecticides and pesticides;

These products are known for killing bugs, but they also poison your family! These products use neurotoxins, like pyrethroids, which lead to Parkinson’s disease in humans. But these products are especially harmful to children because they are more sensitive to environmental toxins.
You probably all know that antiperspirants and deodorants often contain aluminum which keeps your armpits dry, but the use of these products is linked to the onset of Alzheimer’s disease and breast cancer. The reason for this is because aluminum is hard for your body to expel and tends to accumulate in the tissues of the brain and breast. And what is worse, if you use them for a long period, they make you smell worse.
